  • Expected Results

    • Responsible for coordinating and executing the annual marketing plan for TLE segments that delivers stated marketing and financial objectives
    • Responsible for managing and developing direct reports
    • Identify new market or segment opportunities in which Appvion’s capabilities and competencies provide a sustainable competitive advantage

    Supporting Activities

    • Responsible for continuous monitoring, analyzing, synthesizing and documenting of global market, customer and competitive insight to define and markets. Insight will be used to create and make changes to strategies and annual marketing plans:
      • Document information via the proposed knowledge management system
      • Ensure effective and efficient data gathering and insight through proactive team approach.
    • Effectively identifies and creates new offerings that provide competitive advantage and differentiation through the analysis of competitors, customers, market and economic trends
    • Manages, revises and enhances current offerings to provide competitive advantages to targeted customer segments to meet the marketing plan objectives
    • Participate in development of business strategy and annual operating plans
    • Provide input to the overall go-to-market strategy and driving sales growth, product mix, and profitability:
      • Collaborate with sales management to align the marketing and sales plans
      • Collaborate with thermal growth team to develop and launch new technologies
      • Responsible for promotion/advertising strategy for targeted customer segments
    • Effectively communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams, channel partners, end users and agencies on positioning, value proposition, market segmentation, and market intelligence necessary for effective execution of marketing plans
    • Maintains contact with professional organizations and trade associates to keep abreast of changing market dynamics and to position Appvion as a leader in our target segments

    Required Prior Accomplishments - Experience - Skills

    • Desire and willingness to be held accountable for segment results
    • Proven track record of achieving stated objectives
    • High degree of intellectual curiosity with the ability to connect seemingly disparate information
    • Strong active listening and observing skills to perceive the obvious and non-obvious needs of the market
    • Ability and willingness to make decisions on limited information and build a business case that supports opportunities or kills them
    • Strong financial acumen and communication skills
    • Preferred MBA
    • College degree in related discipline
    • Marketing experience 5+ years
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
