Expected Results

  • Provide manufacturing and technical support for a thermal paper coater, coating kitchen, and related operations to achieve key results in areas of safety, quality, and productivity.Provide manufacturing and technical support for new product development.
  • Identify and implement programs to reduce manufacturing costs and improve processes and quality.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma activities as a method of creating process improvements.
  • Resolve problems by using engineering and scientific principles to identify and correct root causes.

Supporting Activities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues through methodical, data driven analysis and intuition.
  • Identify and implement product and process improvements.
  • Interface with customers to resolve complaints and understand their needs.
  • Interface with suppliers to resolve internal manufacturing needs.
  • Lead or coordinate cross functional teams to improve products, processes, or systems.
  • Able to coordinate/train production personnel on trials, new products, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide support to engineering during equipment installation and startup.
  • Provide support to production management and plant personnel to ensure a safe, high quality and efficient production environment.
  • Provide input for long-term planning for the plant and related facilities.

Required Prior Accomplishments - Experience - Skills

  • BS in engineering/science field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations/product development/process engineering preferred. Individuals with less experience may be considered.
  • Capable of working in a flexible, often shifting environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, processes and procedures.
  • Ability to facilitate and drive resolution of complex problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time.
  • Possess strong presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Green Belt or Black Belt level training in Six Sigma and use of Minitab.
  • Experience/knowledge of coating, coating formulas and coating equipment.
  • Experience running design of experiment trials.      
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
