Expected Results

  • Assist in the management all Finishing and Shipping department resources in alignment with Appvion Strategic Objectives and Values.
  • Ensure equipment reliability, uptime, quality, and product availability are maximized to support the mill operations and customer needs.
  • Provide a safe environment for all employees and deliver safety performance results.

Supporting Activities

  • Provide a safe environment for all employees and deliver safety performance results by leading the follow up and resolution of identified safety issues in the Finishing and Shipping Areas.
  • Maintain daily awareness of process issues, drive  corrective action and communicate  to appropriate areas.
  • Lead efforts in support and development of a Lean culture to include: continuous improvements, HPWT’s, and Training programs
  • Leads the scheduling/planning/completion of all finishing outages.
  • Coordination and execution of daily maintenance activities.
  • Implement action plans  to improve operator engagement.
  • Provide back up for key activities of the Superintendent (production meetings, reports, etc.)
  • Monitoring and evaluating employees’ job performance, providing coaching, and corrective action.
  • Responsbile for daily communication to all employees in department.
  • Provide daily shipping estimate to appropriate areas.
  • This position does require the individual to be part of a duty coverage team rotation that includes weekend and on-call coverage.

Required Prior Accomplishments - Experience - Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Logistics, Engineering, is preferred.
  • 2-3 years leadership experience working in team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience building effective relationships with co-workers and customers.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, is preferred.
  • Evidence of required management leadership competencies (Listening, Managing and Measuring Work, Managing Vision and Purpose, Developing Direct Reports and Others, Dealing with Ambiguity, Problem Solving/Decision Quality).
  • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
