IT Enterprise Systems Manager

Expected Results

  • Manage Enterprise Systems and Operations/Helpdesk IT teams and ensure projects including upgrades, replacements and maintenance adhere to standards and meet delivery criteria
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage all activities related to the design, development, implementation and maintenance/support of systems
  • Develop and maintain a framework for the effective and efficient use of IT systems and resources (IT Business Partner role)
  • Apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and best practices to guide the IT team on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of mission-critical information and systems including JD Edwards ERP

Supporting Activities

  • Ensure that projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, or identify and resolve systems issues
  • Review and evaluate existing system effectiveness and efficiency and develop strategies for improving and leveraging these systems more efficiently
  • Collaborate with analysts, developers, and end users, insuring proper testing of system changes takes place
  • Develop plans to keep IT systems updated to meet current and planned organizational needs
  • Coordinate with DRP functions to insure recoverability of critical data
  • Prepare and manage capital and expense budgets for applicable systems/infrastructure within span of control
  • Identify and capture opportunities for improvement in processes, providing strategic and tactical thinking as well as financial and operational analysis to business owners and project team members
  • Utilize best practices to set standards for operational performance metrics
  • Demonstrate leadership and guidance to personnel serving as a mentor and role model
  • Recruit, interview and hire staff as required
  • Conduct development and performance reviews
  • Lead daily continuous improvement thinking and work habits among team members

Required Prior Accomplishments - Experience - Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, 6+ years management experience
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of computer systems
  • Strong knowledge of JD Edwards and related systems preferred
  • Ability to manage a remote Help Desk
  • Excellent problem management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, must be comfortable working with/managing team members in person and remotely
  • Ability to lead and motivate others; flexible management style to supervise teams with diverse and varied backgrounds and knowledge
