  • Expected Results

    • Work collaboratively with the Marketing, Sales, and cross functional teams to gain customer insight, gather customers needs, and develop prototype products
    • Develop and leverage existing technology platforms and apply new technologies leading to new products, improved products, and product extensions
    • Provide product solutions for emerging international markets
    • Work effectively in manufacturing environment during transition of technical developments into commercial products

    Supporting Activities

    • Manage product development projects
    • Provide technical support on product development projects
    • Develop, implement and support efforts that serve to simplify product design platforms by streamlining raw materials and processes
    • Recommend and implement changes to existing product line and processes
    • Interface with customers to define specifications that meet their needs
    • Interface with marketing to assist in transition from early phases of the solution development process to building product prototypes
    • Provide support during product validation and scale-up
    • Identify opportunities for product and process improvements
    • Ensure that activities meet all environmental laws and regulations and provide insight to continually reduce our impact on the environment
    • Identify cost reduction ideas and work to get the ideas resourced and implemented

    Required Prior Accomplishments - Experience - Skills

    • BS in chemistry or chemical engineering
    • Familiarity with patent search and development processes
    • 2-4 yrs experience in technology and new product development

    • Willingness to learn and live six sigma principles
    • Ability to apply engineering and scientific principles to resolve problems and make improvements
    • Capable of working in a flexible, often shifting, environment
    • Ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, management, and production personnel
    • A familiarity with manufacturing environments, processes and procedures is a plus
    • Willing to travel domestically and internationally
    • Ability to work at least 40 hours/week
    • Regular attendance required
