    Appvion is recruiting for a Reliability Engineer intern for the Summer semester of 2019. The Reliability Engineer internship is intended to provide students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment and support the student’s career goals.  The Reliability Engineer internship experience allows students the opportunity to integrate knowledge and skills in manners that are mutually beneficial to both the student and Appvion. 

    Supporting Activities

    The actual responsibilities assigned will vary depending on the skills and qualifications of the person in the job and the evolving needs of the department.  However, the initial responsibilities expected of this position include the following:

    • Help troubleshoot and resolve process issues
    • Assist in the creation of standard operating procedures
    • Participate as needed in Maintenance Planning and Repair improvements.
    • Coordinate the completion of action items resulting from improvement efforts
    • Provide support to the Vibration, Lubrication, and Preventive Maintenance programs
    • Perform other miscellaneous duties as requested

    Required Prior Accomplishments - Experience - Skills

    • Majoring in Electro-Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or other field of Science with at least one year of study successfully completed with the intent to attend the subsequent term as a full-time student.
    • Required to work the Summer semester.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule (nights and weekends on an as needed basis)
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Must actively support and demonstrate safe working practices
    • Must have good interpersonal skills, be results oriented, and a team player
    • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to apply engineering and scientific principles to resolve problems and to make improvements
    • Capable of working in a flexible, often shifting environment
    • Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of management, operational and maintenance employees
    • Learns quickly and competently applies knowledge to achieve expected results 

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
    • Demonstrated leadership experience
