    The goal of the Supply Chain Analyst Internship is to apply knowledge acquired in the classroom to real world situations as well as gain the skills and experiences that are necessary to prepare the student for a successful career in Supply Chain. Project and learning opportunities may arise from areas such as Procurement, Transportation, Planning, Scheduling and Customer Service.

    • Assist in forecasting, planning, managing and reporting raw material flows, costs and inventories.
    • Work within the inventory planning and scheduling department to monitor daily orders, identify exceptions, and problem solve to reduce overall working capital levels and maintain service targets.
    • Work closely with customer service, transportation, and the distribution network to solve inventory availability issues and meet the needs of our customers.
    • Utilize Business Intelligence (BI) tools and Microsoft Office to analyze data and build models to support the Supply Chain teams


    Supporting Activities


    • Use ERP system and BI to recommend changes to supply and demand, reorder quantity, safety stock and reorder point to improve inventory levels
    • Review production and delivery delays to initiate recovery methods in order to avoid affecting our customers.
    • Understand the plant and distribution center network to provide support to Sales, Customer Service, Scheduling, and Transportation.
    • Learn about the monthly forecasting process and how changes impact company financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement
    • Identify and evaluate opportunities for cost reduction throughout the entire Supply Chain
    • Forecast future demand requirements, review price changes and analyze the financial impact
    • Prepare reports detailing purchase price variance and inventory variances
    • Research sources to benchmark best in class supply chain processes and key performance indicators
    • Monitor inventory alerts and broken service promises on a daily basis. Work with the schedulers and plants to make date/quantity adjustments to meet customer order requirements.



    Required Prior Accomplishments - Experience - Skills

    • Must be able to work approximately 15-20 hours per week during the school year, and full time during the summer and school breaks
    • Minimum of 2 years prior experience in School of Business curriculum
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make effective decisions and accept ownership
    • Detail oriented but doesn’t lose sight of the big picture
    • Must have the ability to work effectively as part of a high performing team
    • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office tools
    • Excellent oral and written communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
