  • Expected Results

    • To develop and implement new manufacturing processes, using leading edge technology, to support new innovations and development initiatives.
    • Understand customer needs and translate those needs into functional product designs.
    • Identify and implement programs to reduce manufacturing costs and improve processes and quality.

    Supporting Activities

    • Provide manufacturing support on new products and processes.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve processing issues.
    • Recommend and implement new product lines and processes.
    • Recommend and implement changes to existing product line and processes.
    • Maximize efficiencies and yields while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.
    • Interface with customers to resolve complaints and understand and meet their needs.
    • Interface with product development professionals to assist in transition from solution development to launch and beyond.
    • Provide support to engineering during equipment installation and startup.
    • Work with manufacturing systems manager and plant personnel to ensure a safe, high quality and efficient production environment.
    • Practice daily continuous improvement in all aspects of work, emphasizing problem solving and sharing with others.
    • Identify opportunities for product and process improvements.
    • Provide input to long term planning for the plant and related facilities.

    Required Prior Accomplishments - Experience - Skills

    • BS in engineering or science field
    • 5 - 7 years of experience in product development, process engineering or flexible packaging.
    • Ability to apply engineering and scientific principles to resolve problems with minimal supervision in order to and make improvements.
    • Capable of working in a flexible, often shifting, environment.
    • Ability to interact effectively with customers, management team and production personnel.
    • Business knowledge of cost/benefits analysis, project management, negotiation and strategic and tactical planning.
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, processes and procedures.
    • Ability to facilitate and drive resolution of complex problems.
    • Willingness to travel, domestically and internationally.
