What we need from you

This position is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the Pulp Mill/Utilities Area including: Wood Operations, Chemical Recovery Boiler, Evaporators, Auxiliary Boilers, Incoming Water Treatment and Outgoing Wastewater Treatment, Batch Digesters, Brown Stock Washing, and Three Stage Bleach Plant

This includes creating and continuously improving the safety culture, quality, productivity, and cost of operation.  The Pulp Mill/Utilities Area Manager reports to the Mill Manager and participates on the Mill Leadership Team.

  • Manage the operational responsibility for Process Safety Management
  • Develop and manage the departments Capital Spending Plan
  • Support Shutdown Planning, Preventive/Predictive Maintenance and the Equipment Reliability Process

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering field
  • Experience with Kraft Pulping operations
  • Experience with industrial boilers operation and maintenance
  • Familiarity with Recovery Boiler operation is preferred
  • Knowledge of maintenance management principles including but not limited to precision maintenance, preventative maintenance, root cause failure analysis, shutdown and contingency planning
  • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Evidence of required management leadership competencies
  • Ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • This position does require the individual to be part of a duty coverage team rotation that includes weekend and on-call coverage
