What we need from you

  • Provide Millwright and Pipefitter services to perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs to industrial/Pulp & Paper-manufacturing machinery and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Use preventative and predictive maintenance techniques to maintain machinery and equipment health.
  • Effectively troubleshoot and solve equipment issues while working with cross functional teams (Operations, Engineering, & Maintenance).
  • Act as a positive role model and team member representing Maintenance in the Plant.
  • The successful candidate must complete the obligations defined in the multi-craft Apprenticeship program, including a significant obligation of completing the required home study course work.

What you get to do

  • Install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, repair and troubleshoot mechanical and piping systems.   Piping systems include chemicals, water, steam, compressed air, lubricating and various other process piping systems.  Mechanical equipment includes a wide variety of pulping and paper making equipment, including: pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and rolls.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs on a variety of equipment, utilizing in house CMMS system.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, aerial lifts, rigging and various PIVs.
  • Use industrial hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Maintain accurate shop records on all responsible equipment and services.
  • Follows established safety rules and regulations.
  • Keeps work areas and shop areas clean and compliant with 5S standards.
  • Participates in cross-function equipment improvement teams.
  • Accepts a reasonable amount of overtime and emergency call in work beyond normal working hours.
  • Performs other work as directed by Supervisor.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum high school diploma/GED required. Higher education, technical degree, or certification in industrial maintenance, preferred.
  • Completion of a state apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • 2+ years experience working in a heavy industrial environment preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Position is in an union environment.
  • Ability to construct, assemble, repair and dismantle industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to understand schematic diagrams, AutoCAD drawings, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other OEM specifications.
  • Strong working knowledge of job-site safety.
  • High standard of integrity and professionalism.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude consistent with maintenance-employee norms.
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Dependable, organized, cooperative, and team oriented.
  • Conscientious, self-directed and disciplined.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to work independently as well as with others.
  • Ability and willingness to take call-ins on the off-shifts and on your scheduled day off.
